New Layout X Professional Design

Yay! No classess for me today! Tomorrow, I'm going to catch my locker theif! You can run, but you can't hide....

Anyway, I started making a new layout for my site. I've been hanging around a different crowd nowadays; I've been surfing through the personal pages of professional webdesigners ^_^. That's why I trashed all the anime pics I've been keeping, thinking I might use them for my website. Now, I would never use them, that's why they all went happily down to our recycle bin and got flushed off our hard drive forever! Bye Sakura! Bye Killua! Bye Kpika! Bye Tomoyo! Bye all the anime characters I downloaded that I didn't know the name!

Check out these sites:
http://martini-lounge.com/
http://www.designdojo.ca/
http://joshuaink.com/

JoshuaInk is my favorite. It's simple, yet it has a beautiful design. It has recently opened, but because of it's design, it has been linked by several websites, explaining the amount of traffic it gets.

Darn! I was thinking of creating an autumn layout for my website before, but since Christmas is coming, I figured it would soon be off-season. Oh well...

Read this article! I got it from designdojo. It really makes sense.

Oops! I forgot I still have a layout to finish, au revoir!

The Mystery of the Lock Theif

Weeks ago, someone stole my locker's lock and key. The same happened to my friend, Mika. (For more details, click here.)

Today, I found out who the culprit is: James Park. He's a Korean first year. I think he also has a twin and either he, his twin or both of them, go to the Balikbayan class, a class specialy made for students in our school who has a hard time with the Filipino language.

I went to school today even if I'm feeling lazy to do so because it's Saturday, but it was recquired for us since we will have some kind of program in celebration for my school's new name. All we did there was play some games wherein are opponents are our teachers. We won most of the games! lol

On my way home while I was riding on the tricycle, I noticed the skyblue, skateboard keychain that was attached to the kid that was with me. I thought, "Hey, it's just like the keychain of my lost lock!" Then I noticed that a small key was also attached to it. I knew at once it was my keychain. The small key that was attached to it was the key of my diary that I lost before and the keychain was a gift to me by a friend, but my locker key was not attached to it. Nevertheless, I told the person that his keychain resembled the one of my lost key. He confessed it was mine, but it was only given to him by James Park, a korean, then he gave it back to me.

On Wednesday, I'm going to scout for that James Park. I sometimes catch him staring and I knew long before that something was fishy with this bloke. Me and Mika were right at thinking that the theif is a freshman, but I'm not sure if he also stole Mika's lock, though there's a big possibility that he did. I'm also not 100% sure that this Mr. Park is the theif, the guy who told me must be lying, but I know his face anyway so I can confront him again.

Because we went to school today, we won't have any classes on Monday and Tuesday, so on Wednesday, I'm going to scout my school for this James Park and ask him to cough up my lock and key, but I better ask him first if he is James Park, because I might mistake him from his twin.

I'm almost at the end of this mystery of the lock theif! Maybe I should add being a detective on my list of possible future careers. ^_^ If ever I become a detective, I'll make sure Mika will be my partner. XD

Edit: Oops! My mistake! James Park has no twin, but a 3rd year brother. They look so alike, sorry.

New Site

I found this site that allows you to make a lego person. It's really fun!

Yell X School X Beda Text X W.i.t.c.h.

We had our practice for the so called "Indian Yell." It's actually a chant for our school. We recently had a name change from St. Benedict College to San Beda Alabang, and tomorrow, it will be officialized. Also, today we were asked to wear jeans, rubber shoes and red shirt (our school color) instead of our uniform.

We also have Beda text. You know those stuffs for your cellphone where you can subscribe to something like horoscopes our download fun stuffs for your cellphone? It's kind of like that. Whenever there is classes are suspended because of typhoons, coup de etat and other stuffs, we would all receive a text message informing us about it and other stuffs too like concerts, programs etc. It's really kind of cool.

After school I went to my favorite mall, ATC, also knows as "The Second Home of Bedans" so I could buy the latest issue of W.i.t.c.h., a comic-magazine about friendship. I saw lots of my fello-bedans there. I expected it since I often see my schoolmates there (that's why it's called our 2nd home), it's Friday and we're wearing civilian (the red shirt I mentioned earlier).

I just came home so I haven't read W.i.t.c.h. yet. I might post the story here, but for now, ciao!

Strike X My Cousin X Debut

There's a jeepney strike here today, but even so, classes still resumed. Sigh.... Well, it's okay, though I couldn't find a jeep to ride on, Mayor Jaime Fresnedi has this program going on for a free ride on an air-con FX. Now that's definitely better than a jeep!

Hmm... what's up with my life recently?
Oh yeah, me and my mom shopped for an outfit for me for my cousin's debut. I kind of hate it, since I don't like wearing formal clothes: those frilly dresses, pain-in-the-ass shoes, etc. I would've been glad not to come, but they made me a part of those 18 thingy (I think it's 18 wishes). I haven't thought of any wish for her, except maybe some stupid ones that definitely does not make any sense. I'm not even close to my cousin because of our age gap and whenever they come to our house, I'm always OP because her brothers go to our PC and play Ragnarok wit my brother who is also a RO adict, while she whines that she wants to go home because she has to study, do her project, has tons of homework (she's a nerd, no offense, but she really actually is). I just lock myself in my room and do my own thing, probably draw or read.

I dread that cursed day when I, myself, turn 18. I don't want to have a debut!!! I don't want to wear a stupid gown the entire day, dance 18 times, listen to people wish me so and so 18 times nor do I want to be the center of attention for 24 hours! I don't want to grow up, but I also don't want to stay 14 while all my friends become graduate college, become adults, have their own families, then grandchildren... you know what I mean.

Oh, what the heck...!

Gossamer: Elitism

Just as I said yesterday, I'd continue browsing through Gossamer.

I'll quote this from one of her articles:

There are many so called "Elite" sites on the web. For the purpose of this rant, I'm referring to the "elite" personal sites. Why exactly are they so popular and "above the rest"? I've been to a few and well, they aren't that good. Some of them are just a blog and that's it, yet links that go to their site say "that's such a cool blog, you have to read it!". But what is a "cool blog"? Isn't a blog an online diary? How can some online diaries be better or "cooler" than others? What, are we now judged on how interesting our lives are?

I'm not trying to send a message to anyone in particular here. I only quoted it because of such verity that lies within it. I only know one friend who owns an elite site and Gossamer's description of "elite" sites are totally contrary to hers. She updates often enough and she definitely does not get bitchy with her ramblings, etc. In fact, I think I'm the one who's turing bitchy. Have you seen my last post about art yesterday? No, don't read it anymore if you haven't. Just don't.

Ofcourse I'm not turing elite, my site hardly gets any visitors for goodness' sake. I definitely haven't submitted my site into any elite cliques, just as I plan never to submit my site in any review site. Sorry if I'm starting to grow horns, it just pissed me off. Sorry.

Exams X Bodega Sale

I'm back! We're going to have our second long test this quarter on Tuesday. This might be my last day to post until the end of our two-day exams, but I'm not absolutely sure about that. Our test on Tuesday will just be Filipino and Biology. Those two subjects don't recquire too much reviewing, and I already stated reviewing, so I might finish studying early. Then ofcourse, there is my dad. If he stays home on the day before my tests, chances are, I won't be able to get hold of our PC, but if Lady Luck is on my side and I'm already pretty sure I'll pass my exams, I would be updating this blog.

I got lots of good grades on our last long test, I even got a higher remark on most tests to some of my friends. Imagine, I got 98 on our PA exam and I only studied that during the break time before the actual exam because I couldn't find my hand-outs at home so I just borrowed my friend's. I am also getting good at English again. My grades in English was starting to fall before as I got more and more lazier and I also often study that subject on the break before the actual exam (just like my PA test). Even with my horrible system, I manage to pass my tests; I even got a 90 before.

Our school launches a bodega sale yearly that lasts for 3 days. It was really bad timing, since I was saving money this week. Most of the shops there are even overpriced. For example, Hunter X Hunter cards were sold there for 20 pesos, while in ATC, the exact cards were sold for the price of 5 pesos! If they're original, I'd gladly buy them, but they're not, and the pictures were only fanart found online! The artists behind those pics must be really proud however, if that happens to me, I'd be really angry and probably sue them. I mean, it's copyright work. Anyway, I bought a Sakura card (the Sheild card) for 10 pesos. Ofcourse it's not worth it, since it's also fake, but there's no copyright written there so maybe I can scan it and use it on a layout one day. LOL I think I'm also a hypocrite like the owner of Gossamer (she said so herself). I hate copyright violaters, but given the chance, I would too. XP

Gossamer: On Art... (Anime lovers, manganers, etc. KEEP OUT! No. Please don't read this at all.)

Read it.

Please note that there are some messages here that might offend someone. I do not force you to read this in fact, I would much prefer if you don't read it at all. And before I forget, no flames allowed.

I disagree with her on everything. Ok, so I only get 7 visitors a day, does that mean my art is trash?! ...................................... Er... well maybe it is, but I certainly don't publish my work online just to attract more visitors! I love art, and what do you know about art?! I saw firesky.net, and it was full of anime pics. Is anime more "art" than abstracts that do not portray a subject as how one's eyes see it, but rather how one thinks and feels? Do you know what modern art is? It's not anime, it's not realistic painting, it's those "trashy" art. Yes. Those abstract forms that looks so weird that you often wonder whether the artist know how to paint or not. Ofcourse they know how to paint, some of those painters even switched from realistic art (those paintings that looks so real) to modern art. You wanna know why? Because modern art expresses more emotions. You can read how the painter feels just by observing the brushstrokes, the colors, the technique used. Did you even know that modern art costs more than realistic and anime? That's because it is considered more like art than realistic and anime.

According to that article that art is expression of feelings. Therefore I trust she know what I mean. Where is the expression in anime? All characters look exactly alike. Does that mean the artist behind feel exactly the same? When the artist first drew the first copy of his/her character, his/her feelings are already expressed and are moved into his/her work. When he/she paints it again, naturally, whatever he/she felt before was lessened or was taken over by a new feeling, so his/her work must not look exactly the same like the previous one. However, that is not so.

The same goes to realistic. The painter paints through his/her eyes instead of through his/her heart. If you want to paint something that looks exactly the same as your subject, why don't you just take a photograph? Photography is also a form of art, according to my dad who is a photographer himself.

Sigh... I keep on ranting and complaining even though I know that the owner of Gossamer would never get the chance to read it. Anyway, this is too long, I still have lots of homework to do. I shall resume reading her articles some other time.

Gossamer: CCS Character Review

Read it!

I totally agree with her about Sakura. I wonder why the Anti-Mary Sues Movement are not attacking her. Don't ask. I mean, she's the new master of the Clow Cards, she gets Shaoran-kun, has a cute Keroberos, a loyal bestfriend that is suspiciously addicted to her, and I even remember Tomoyo saying before on one episode that Sakura is the most beautiful in their class! (Totally don't agree with that, Tomoyo is prettier.)

And about Mei Lin, right when I first saw her I thought, "This girl's annoying!" But that's just what I think, maybe I was just being too overprotective since I liked Li Shaoran (but I don't like him now, I'm already a Killua fangirl).

Gossamer

I read this article I found in Gossamer (at the Rants section to be exact).

I totally agree with it. Whenever I click on the "next blog" button found on the top bar of every Blogger/Blogspot-hosted onlne blog, I often see those sTiCkY cApS on people's blogs. I even see some blogs that doesn't contain a single sentence, only phrases that were even condensed into chatspeak! They sounded illiterate.

Though I admit I also use chatspeak sometimes, like in tag boards or SMS, I hope that the excuse of trying to conserve characters since only a limited number are allowed, can be accepted. And if ever you catch me using "ur" instead of "your" and other shortened words, I probably have just chatted at a tagboard somewhere. And in reference to the japanese -chan and -sans, I am proud to say, that I don't call myself Elisha-chan. My friends sometimes do so though, because I often call them with -chans or -kuns attached to their names. LOL

The "Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir" translation really made me laugh, I know a lot of people who sang that when that song was still often played on MTV.

Maybe I should also post my personal opinions in my blog. Ofcourse I place some of my opinions here, but those were only sentences attached to one journal entry, that I use to express how I feel, support my point, etc. But I want to express it wherein, an entire journal entry is dedicated to that opinion.

Anyway, I need to go, I still want to read her other posts. Bye!

Obnoxiousness X Blog X Affiliate

Nothing much happened today. Hm... Well I did get on a fight with an annoying classmate. He threw me some torn papers, I threw him a crumpled paper, he pushed my books making them fall of my desk, so since he's in front, his back was facing me, I pulled his ID strap and suffocated him for a while. LOL! Call me mean, but he's mean too!

What else? Oh, I'm looking for a blog host nga pala! I somehow found my way back to b2. I've been there before, I don't know why I did not make an account. Well this time I did, or at least I tried to. Whenever I click on "register" it says: "You don't need to register here on this blog." What the heck?! Do they want new members or not? I tried refreshing and refreshing, clicking the back button sevral time and even trying other links to register but I always end up on the same page. If I get fed up with all these searching for the perfect blog host, I'll have no choice but be my own host. Maybe I'll get used with all the hassle that come with using haloscan.

Edit: I checked out my haloscan account and it turns out, that you can install it on certain blog hosts like diary-x and blogger! Woohoo! Now I can have a hassle-free blog!

Sophies's World X No good classmates X Blog

Last Sunday, when we went to Powerbooks, my favorite bookstore, I picked up some books wherein there was written: From the author of Sophie's World. That made me curious about the book, Sophie's World.

I was a soccer varsity member, which makes me exempted from taking PE classes. So whenever it is PE time, I just stay in the library. We had PE classes today, since I was in a room full of books, I looked for Sophie's World in our school's electronic card catalog. I was so happy when I found out we had 2 copies all checked in! I also found out that our library also had other books written by the same author of Sophie's World, Jostein Gaarder. I was tempted to borrow his other books, but thought it wise to borrow Sophie's World first, since it seems like it's his most famous book.

Sophie's World, as it turned out, tells about Philosophy. One day, Sophie finds letters addressed to her asking mind-boggling questions. Making Sophie question her identity and the world around her. Before she knows it, she's taking on a Philosphy course from an unknown person through brown envelopes that are also addressed to her. Then... I don't know, I'm still on chapter 2. No! I'm not a slow reader, I simply don't have that much time on my hands. If I did, I wouldn't be giving away my guild and it would still be very active again and it would be very famous and it would be the largest W.i.t.c.h. fanclub in the Philipines and... and.... Sigh....

Moving on, I really feel annoyed with some of my classmates. Did you know that our batch is known as the most notorious batch. I think 3 or 4 teachers have already left because of us and our section is even one of the noisiest.

Because of so many teachers resigning, ofcourse they have to be replaced by new ones. And one of the new teachers is Ms. Ganyac, our new math teacher. I did not like her at first and preferred our old teacher, My Gepaya, who was transferred to another section, back. She is also my teacher in math remedial, and on one of her classes, she showed the side of her she never showed in class, the kind Ms. Ganyac, not the terror one who's always mad at us. She reviewed us for the upcoming test (duh! it's remedial class) and even gave us some study tips. I also noticed that she never leaved a student in the dark, whenever someone asks a question, she answers it until all is clear (yeah, i just noticed it now).

Just today, Sir Noel left. He was also a new teacher, replacing our ex-CVE teacher who left because of our "notorious-ness." It was really a shame. I liked Sir Noel. He tries to be a terror teacher because of our class's behaviour but he still look kind. His eyes always express the glow of happiness and kindness. Then there was the time when "nakasabay" (<==Er... excuse my stupidity, but what's the English for this?)ko siya sa tryke [tricycle]. And he jokingly told me that he wanted to be a kind teacher, but he couldn't because our class was very noisy.

Some of my classmates are really mean. If I have any classmate who is reading my blog now, I bet you know about that baka human(?) who was my original parteer our teacher in bio assigned for frog dissecting (unlucky me). Well during math class, he and another baka human(?) was seated at my back. And I overheard (I couldn't help it, his voice is louder than our teacher's) him saying something about the joy he feels whenever he suddenly shouts and someone jumps out of surprise (he does this a lot). How rude! He gets happy when he annoys someone. Oh please!

I'm rambling too much, let's change the subject. I'm planning to switch blog hosts. Blogger only allows XHTML, which I admit, don't know about, but I can learn. If my memory serves me right, there's someone who signed my guestbook before who owned a XHTML help site. Anyway, I'm looking for a blog host that has a comment service (haloscan has too much hassle with it, you know, the changing of id and copy pasting of codes and everything), HTML and CSS compatible (i want to make my own layout, free (my parents don't allow me to spend money online) and ofcourse, reliable. If anyone knows of such, please comment.

Sayounara my beloved guild...

When I learned that one of my best friends had a neopets account, I suggested that we make a guild. At first we thought of making a guild for neopets newbies and then finally decided that we make a W.i.t.c.h. fanclub. And so Guardians of Kandrakar guild was born.

The guild was made by an account owned by my bestfriend technically, she is the guild leader, the highest rankjin our entire guild. I was just the assistant guild leader. She made her siblings part of the admin and also made a member who was very inactive, an admin too. She, her siblings, and the member contributed nothing for the guild. She only posted on the guild message board once (only when the guild was created), her siblings never and the member turned admin only when she just joined the guild. I on the other hand, recruited members, saved money to buy prizes for our contests, spent many sleepless nights thinking of fun and original activities for our guild, created our guild layouts and website. In short, I did all the work. But everything paid off well, our guild continued to grow, it became more active, all thanks to me.

Everything was going well until summer was over and my life as a sophomore started. More than ever, I was attacked by heaps of homework and other time-consuming activities that forced me to neglect my guild. I tried to keep it active but it was hard. I never even get to finish our guild website.

I don't want to close my guild and just turn all the effort I applied to be where it is now be wasted. Tomorrow, when I meet the friend whom I strted this guild with, I'm going to tell her that I'm going to look for someone who can manage our guild. And though I will miss those nights of brainwashing for the perfect contest my guildmates will love or searching endlessly for W.i.tc.h. fans online and offline to recruit, I will still be a member of the guild I once owned and probably assist the future owner here and there when the help is needed.

I know it's my fault. I should tell my friend that I caouldn't handle all the responsibilities of an entire guild all by myself, but I know I'll just bump some feeling along the way. Did you know that her siblings even got mad at me because I mad an active member, unlike them, member of the month? Sigh....

Site X Theives X Traffic

Something weird is happening to my site. First my banner got lost in my files in my host's server. Next I found my main page to be edited--my counter was lost. Is there something wrong my host or does someone know my password?

This reminds me of that incident at school. I lost my locker key then the next day, I found my lock facing the wrong way. Later on during break (it was the day of our exams), my lock was completely lost and my things are in disaray. Luckily, nothing was lost. Because I decorated my locker with lots of Killua pics, I stripped them all off so noone can steal them. One of my bestfriends, Mika, also got her lock stolen. It was combination so it was easy to pick. However, she did lose some of her stuffs. Good thing I don't place anything important in my locker, I keep them all in my bag. But my soccer stuffs almost got lost. The day after losing lock, I went to my locker only to find out that my soccer stuffs was lost. They stole my entire soccer bag with all of its content! What would they want with soccer gears? I can't believe they're that crazy over me. (Joke!) I reported it to the prefect but it was just a waste of time because they couldn't help me. What the hell?! I returned to my locker and found my soccer bag beside the lockers wide open. Ofcourse, nothing was lost. Good thing they found my soccer shoes, shin guards, etc. useless. I believe my mom would be mad at me if I lose them.

Me and Mika tried to find out the poor person who doesn't have any money to buy any lock. We woke went to school early one day, hid, and waited for them until the bell rang. I still remember all of the texting and planning we did the night before to get our revenge like bringing rotten food to throw at them; punch, slap and kick their ass if they are male (Mika is really good at slapping. Just ask my classmates, she gave the most annoying person in the world before a crunchy slap on the face before that echoed in our entire classroom.). Then if they're female, I guess we could just give them a catfight (good thing my nails are already getting long). Unfortunately, we were not able to slap nor scratch anyone. The blasted caper did not show up and we just wasted almost 2 hours of sleep for nothing. However, we do know that the thief is a first year. Classes for 2nd to 4th years are 7-3:30 while the freshmen were from 10-5:30. So maybe, they were stealing our stuffs after thier dismissal when we are already at home.

I do feel sorry for Mika and extremely angry with that aho [japanese for stupid] thief! I have only one message for that despicable worm: Shine! [japanese for be dead]

Next topic, my traffic report! Thanks to my plugging, my site's traffic just went up! Whoopee! From 3 visitors a day, it became 5 visitors per day. I better plug some more!

Diary X Manga X Layout X Killua

Konnichiwa! Haha, I'm feeling japanese today. Talking about japanese, I got this kakoii [cool in japanese] idea from my japanese friends, Mika and Ruby. They both share a diary wherein they write the happenings of their daily life then create a manga afterwards. Next they gave it to the other person (ex. Mika to Ruby, Ruby to Mika) then she will also write her experiences that day and continue the story of their manga.

It's so kawaii [cute in japanese]! Their manga is superb! They're both great manganers. Too bad I can't understand a thing since it's written in japanese. Oh man....

Maybe I can copy them. Though I admit I'm not that good, I know how to draw manga or I could just use portray my story into words instead of pictures.

I'll do that on my new layout on January. I don't know when I'll next update my site's new layout. But I'm positive I will change it on January for the New Year and I won't change it for a long time after that.

Haha, did you notice this entry's title? It's like the title of the episodes of Hunter X Hunter. It has "X"s in them. Talking about Hunter X Hunter, I miss Killua. Baka [stupid in japanese] SlamDunk! They have no right to replace HxH. Shine![a japanes swear word]

Traffic Report

My site's traffic has definitely increased through time. From 2 visitors per day it went to 3. This pretty much confused me since hardly anyone posts on my comments, my tagboard or my guestbook. They just come and go without leaving a trace. I thought my site's traffic would decrease because it's so boring, but it didn't, thankfully.

I posted my site on several plug-boards like the one on http://blue-starz.net. I was also thinking of finally joining some affiliates but I stopped myself. I won't advertise my site that much--yet, until I create a better layout for my webbie. I already started creating the graphics I will use, but I'm still not sure where to place the menu. Anyway, I'll figure it out.

Layout

Sorry if my Halloween-themed layout did not make it. I was not able to use the computer beacuse of my selfish brother. I did not continue it anymore since Halloween is already done. Maybe next time. It's not that nice anyway.

The End

Gee, I finished my first ever fanfic already. I can't believe it...
